The overall goal of the Classroom Management feature is to enable the efficient management of face to face sessions such as classroom training and workshops. It enables learner self service where they can browse to book sessions, for which there is an approval process if required.

The face to face event management feature in Totara:

• automates various administrative tasks associated with face to face booking
• enables the creation of a course/session catalogue
• allows keyword and location based search for sessions/events
• provides session and event management including providing links and attachments (pre-reading, print-outs, etc)
• supports venue and facilitator management
• has an online self service booking system
• enables attendance marking and reports
• provides evaluation forms and reports
• provides a flexible request and approval system with:
- automated waiting list
- automated reminders
- customizable email messages
