Development Plan
“Your people are your greatest asset”, the saying goes. Employees are also most likely the biggest cost and management challenge. It is critically important to align talent development with organizational strategies.
The Totara Individual Development Planner (IDP) tracks on-the-job training, guides development and assesses progress toward career goals and company talent development objectives. Totara’s IDP manages immediate and long-range developmental needs, providing one or more individually-tailored action plans to develop specific competencies (knowledge and skills) needed to improve performance in the employee’s present position or to prepare for new responsibilities aligned with the company’s direction. This enables managers to create learning plans for their team members and monitor progress on an ongoing basis. The IDP can also be used as part of an organizational appraisal process.
The IDP manages scheduling of courses and other learning activities and provides a critical tool for employers to manage resources for employee development training. The IDP supports the development of a structured individual learning plan. The plan also provides learners with quick and targeted access to relevant learning whether face to face events or e-learning; and enables them to see their progress at a glance.
