1. Use Course Imports As Templates

The course import is a feature that lets you copy contents from one course straight into another quickly and easily. It's a great way of "templating" a course and reusing it without having to manually copy content across the site.

2. Embed Your YouTube/Vimeo Videos 

Choosing to embed a video rather than upload it to the LMS has many positives. On your site, there might be an upload limit that is smaller than the file size of the video. By uploading your video to either Vimeo or YouTube and then embedding it within the course, you aren't restricted to a specific file size or video format.

3. Use Dynamic Audiences 

Audience Management in Totara allows you to organise site users into groups, these groups can be dynamically populated through a series of rules saving you time and money. There are two types of audiences:

Dynamic – Users will be dynamically added depending on the rules you set on the audience group.

Set – Users will be added manually to the audience group.

Audiences come in particularly useful when you want a specific group to be enrolled within a course/program; this saves time instead of manually adding users.

4. Use Question Banks  

The Question Bank feature allows questions to be stored as part of the Quiz activity inside a database, this feature allows users to select which question to add instead of adding the questions repeatedly. Question Banks can be shared with other roles and edited within this database.

5. Create an Engaging Front Page

The front page is an important part of the LMS, which can be used to promote news, new learning material and to direct people to different learning paths. The key is to regularly change your front page content and keep users engaged.
